Coyt Bailey

Born
and raised in Jackson, MS, Coyt Bailey
dreamed of flying helicopters since he was a
little boy. He graduated from
Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia in 1988
and started Mercury Aviation, Inc. in 1995.
His first customer was WLBT news and he is
now known as Captain Coyt. His fleet has
grown to include five helicopters and his
business ranges from traffic/news, power
line patrol, aerial photo and video, charter
flights, scenic flights and emergency
events.
After Katrina, Coyt documented the
devastation in Mississippi and Louisiana.
Coyt also single-handedly put together the
Metro One aerial law enforcement program,
the first such program ever for MetroJackson.
Coyt still makes Jackson his home and has
served as a SafeCity Board member since
spring, 2006. |

Carol Burger

A
native of Carson, MS, Carol is a Tougaloo
College graduate with further studies at
Columbia University and the University of
Southern Mississippi. Carol is very active
in her community. She is founding member
and served as chairman of the Board of
Governors of Youth Leadership Jackson.
Carol presently serves on the following
local boards: Mission Mississippi;
University Club; Safe Cities Initiative;
INROADS/Mississippi, Inc.; and advisory
boards for the Junior League of Jackson and
the Mississippi Center for Non-Profits.
Carol is a member of Anderson Methodist
Church in Jackson. Carol and her family
live in Jackson. |

Liz
Carroll was born and raised in the Arkansas
Delta, but moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi
in her teen years. She graduated from Tulane
University in New Orleans, LA with a degree
of Political Economy. She started out in the
news business behind the scenes in Memphis,
then moved to Greenville, MS and then on to
the Capital City where she has lived for the
last ten years covering Mississippi news
with a special focus on courts and the
legislature. Liz now owns her own company,
Carroll Communications, specializing in
media advocacy and policy support. Liz has
worked on groundbreaking legislation for
medical issues. She has made her home in
Fondren with her husband and three children. |

Stuart M. Irby, Jr
Sonepar |
Stuart
M. Irby, Jr. is a resident of Jackson, MS.
He is a graduate of the University of
Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in
English and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. His
family’s business was founded in Jackson, MS
in 1926. He grew up working in the business
and returned to Jackson, MS in 2004, at
which time Stuart C. Irby, Co. was the 15th
largest electrical distributor in the
nation. In 2005 Stuart C. Irby, Co. was
acquired by Sonepar, a Paris-based
electrical distributor. He has continued
working for Sonepar in marketing and new
store development and is currently a member
of the Sonepar Junior Committee, an
international committee of Sonepar
executives under 40. He has additional
experience in real estate development,
private equity, and non-profit. As a native
son of Jackson, MS, he wants to see a
decline in the city’s crime rate and
families and businesses thriving throughout
the Metro area. |

Haley R. Fisackerly

Haley
grew up in Columbus, Mississippi. He is a
graduate of Mississippi State University
with a Bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration and a Master’s degree in
Public Administration from George Washington
University. Haley serves on numerous
statewide and Jackson-area boards, including
the Mississippi Council on Economic
Education, the Metro Jackson Chamber of
Commerce, SafeCity Initiative, the Dixie
National Sale of Junior Champions, New Stage
Theatre and is a Commissioner for the
Mississippi Telecommunications and
Conference Commission. The Fisackerly
family lives in Jackson. |
